Why Parents Choose Us
"I tried getting the right support for my daughter through traditional tutoring, therapists, school counselors, but none were able to address that she needed support that matched her learning style and unique personality, that could both teach her and give her tools and self esteem to navigate school and life better. Charlie offered exactly what I was searching for and it's been a relief and a joy to watch her grow."

Charlie Broxton, Founder
When your student is stuck, overwhelmed, or unmotivated, it can feel like you’re running out of options. That’s where I come in. For more than 30 years, I’ve helped students uncover their strengths, build real confidence, and develop the tools they need to thrive—not just in school, but in life.
I draw on a BS in Biology from UC Davis, a Doctorate in the Transformation and Development of Emerging Generations, certification as a life coach, and years of teaching students of all ages in science, math, English, and social studies. I’ve also worked as an adjunct college professor, guiding learners to succeed at every stage.
As a dad who has two adult sons and as someone who has learned to thrive with ADHD myself, I understand how hard it can be to watch a student struggle. That’s why my focus is simple: helping your student become the confident, capable version of themselves you always knew was there.
Because this isn’t just about raising grades. It’s about giving your student the skills—and belief in themselves—to succeed for the long run.
Frequently Asked Questions
What can we expect from the initial assessment?
The assessment is a 60-90 minute session that gives us a clear picture of your student’s needs. I’ll meet with you and your student, use two quick tools to uncover how they learn best, and then schedule a follow-up to share the results and a personalized plan for success.
What does a typical tutoring/coaching session involve?
Each session is designed to move your student forward—academically and personally. We’ll tackle organization, study skills, and any roadblocks holding them back, while also working through the subjects they need help in. The goal isn’t just better grades—it’s building confidence, independence, and momentum that carries into every area of life.
Are sessions in person or virtual?
Both options are available. I meet with students in person in the Roseville, Rocklin, Lincoln, Loomis, and Granite Bay areas—either in a public setting or in your home with another adult present. For families outside these areas, or those who prefer flexibility, virtual sessions are always an option.
Do you have experience with neurodivergent students?
Yes—this is an area I know well. I’ve worked with neurodivergent students as both a mentor and teacher. And because I’ve learned to thrive with ADHD myself, I bring not only proven strategies but also real empathy and understanding for what your student is experiencing.
How do I book sessions?
It all begins with the initial assessment, which you can schedule using the button above or by clicking here. After scheduling, you’ll receive a link to confirm payment and reserve your spot on my calendar. From there, you can decide what works best for your family: choose a 6- or 12-session package up front, or start with just the assessment and decide on sessions afterward.
Do you diagnose learning challenges, or provide therapy/counseling?
No—I don’t diagnose or provide medical or psychological evaluations. If you’re concerned about learning differences, attention, or mental health, I always recommend connecting with a licensed professional who can give you the proper evaluation and support.
